PRICE
Odds and Ends
20 September — 1 November 2025
Opening: 19 September, 6 pm
The exhibition “Odds and Ends” by PRICE presents a new series of sculptural works that question performativity and its leftovers through various assemblages of recovered theatre scenography elements. In a multi-layered atmosphere, the backstage is uncovered and becomes the ground for a play where the cute, the affective, the toxic and the dramatic coexist. The flatness of the backdrop is revealed as a place of self-spectacularization where characters are formed and performed according to various codes, contexts and the desires of those who watch them. Thus, the pieces with blurred yet singular identities question the conditions and hierarchies of spectatorship, as well as the power dynamics hidden or reproduced in spaces of theatricality, while offering an intimate valorization of what remains once the spectacle is over. Alongside the visual and spatial layers, an olfactory dimension will permeate the exhibition, further shaping the atmosphere and lingering like a trace of what has been staged.
PRICE (b. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1986) works between performance and time-based works such as sonic interventions, installations, and sculptures, where scent acts like an extension of what is exhibited or performed. His practice expands in different settings, from museums to theatres to clubs. He lives and works mainly between Zürich and São Paulo. His work explores the politics inherent to both social and private spaces. His recent exhibitions and performances have been shown at Kunsthaus Biel/Bienne, CH (2024); Cabaret Voltaire, Zurich, CH (2024); MUDAM Luxembourg (2024); CC Strombeek, Brussels, BE (2024); Spazio Murat, Bari, IT (2024); CAPC, Bordeaux, FR (2023); Trauma Bar Berlin, DE (2023); Casa do Povo, São Paulo, BR (2023); Basel Social Club, Basel, CH (2023); Istituto Svizzero Roma / Milan / Palermo, IT (2022); OCT0, Marseille, FR (2022); Gessnerallee, Zurich, CH (2022); Arsenic, Lausanne, CH (2022); Norbergfestival, SE (2022); KEM, Warsaw, PL (2021); Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection, Paris, FR (2021); mumok and Burgtheater Kasino, Vienna, AU (2021); NAVEL, Los Angeles, USA (2019), amongst others.
